The seventh annual Grand Lake National Clogging Competition took place on June 10, 2006 at the Grove Civic Center in Grove Oklahoma. Over 200 dancers competed for more than $6000 in cash and awards., Teams from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska and Missouri took part in the competition.

The Shockwave from Coweta, Ok were the top team winning the $1000 Grand Champion Prize money. Jeff and Jennifer Moore from Coweta, OK. Were the overall solo male and female Grand champion winners. Sara Bernhardt Was the Flatfoot Grand Champion. Pat Dennis was there with her Traditional team and competed in all of the traditional categories and took home a pocket full of prize money.

The event coordinator was Lou Maiuri From Summersville , WV and the event was sponsored by Grand Lake Festivals and the City of Grove.

Judges for this years competition were Ann Moore, TX, Lib Mills, SC, Clyde Bubba Richardson, Heather Barnhart, SC and Pam Collins from SC.

Pat and Kathie Aggus were in charge of stage and civic center set up and did a great job. Dianne Loftin was in charge of registration, Linn Loftin was in charge of team line ups and Ken Beach was the sound tech.

Next years competition will be held on June 07, 2008 and we plan to do more in the way of prize money to encourage teams to enter more of the traditional categories. Also we’ll have Grand Champion traditional solo prize money and traditional duo/duet grand champion prize money again.
